How to tame your hamster

There are many different ways to tame your but these are just a few that I have always used when taming a new furry friend!

Bath tub

In a bath tub or shower you can lay down a towel/blanket and put some of your hamsters toys.

Sit in the bath with your hamster and let them climb over you and get used to your scent. You can practice picking them up. If you are scared that they may bite you then you can wear gloves. 

Bedding

With some toilet tissue your can rub it around on your hands and place it in your hamsters cage. Whilst they are sleeping they will be breathing in your scent and getting used to it. 

Pen

You can build a pen about of cardboard, books or you can buy when from your local pet store. You can sit in it with your hamster and play with it and let it get used to you. 

You may want to put down a towel so it your hamster gets nervous and poops/wees then you wont a mess on your carpet.

Food

Hand feeding your hamster can be a great way to earn trust form your hamster. You can feed them treats or their normal food mix. I would reccomend using their normal food and that is the main thing they will be eating and you want them to enjoy it so they are eating and getting all the nutrients they need!
